‘Giyeyok’ Area Application in Secondary Education Institutions.

The truancy rates of high school students, their utilisation of their free time after school and the effects of the activities they do in these free times on their course achievements are issues that need to be evaluated in the thematic area of conscious awareness. With the project, it is aimed to determine the factors that distract students from school and connect them to school and to eliminate the factors that distract them from school. Survey research, one of the quantitative research methods, was determined as the main method. Data were collected by questionnaire method.
The questionnaire questions were submitted to the expert opinion in order to make an evaluation for creating conscious awareness and to ensure validity in the research and then put into practice. As a result of the survey application, 800 students were asked to participate, but some of these students refused to participate in the study and some of them returned the google form questionnaire form as empty. As a result, our questionnaire was applied to 559 students.
While the population of the research consists of high school students living in Konya province, the sample consists of 559 high school students who participated in our research. The results of the survey were evaluated using a statistical analysis programme SPSS 23.0 (StaticalPackagefortheSocialSciences). While evaluating the data of our research, percentage calculation, mean, onewayanova (One-way analysis of variance) was performed.
As a result of our study, it has been revealed that high school students go to cafes and social environment cafes (Game, etc...) with varying time intervals. Cafes have become a centre of attraction for students. An educational arrangement should be made regarding cafes.
As a result of the study we conducted, a large part of the students skip school at certain time intervals. This event distances students from the school and creates a cold opinion about the school. In this regard, it is necessary to give moral and psychological seminars to students and to get the necessary help from the guidance counselling service.
